Can I open my mouse?

Users are allowed to open mice without voiding the warranty, but only for the following approved maintenance tasks:

  • Changing the hot-swappable OP1 switches

  • Replacing the detachable cable (OP1, XM1, XM2 8k)

  • Adjusting internal button tensioning (OP1 only — see note below)

⚠️ Important exceptions and warnings:

  • XM-series mice (XM1, XM2) do not have hot-swappable switches; changing switches on these models requires soldering and is not covered under warranty.

  • Cleaning the scroll wheel encoder with compressed air is generally not effective. These components are pre-lubricated, and debris often remains trapped internally. Disassembling the scroll wheel or encoder mechanism will void the warranty!

  • Disassembly of side buttons or any internal components beyond the approved tasks is not covered.

🔧 User damage is not covered under warranty.
For example:

  • Damaging the PCB with a screwdriver while opening the mouse

  • Bending pins on a CPU or motherboard during installation
