How do I remove leftover adhesive from the previous skates?

After removing your mouse skates, some adhesive residue may remain on the base of the mouse. This is normal and can usually be removed without using cleaning products.

We recommend gently rolling the adhesive off with your thumb. Work slowly using light pressure and repeat the process as necessary. Depending on the adhesive and how long the skates have been installed, removing all residue may take several passes.

For more stubborn residue, a slightly damp microfiber cloth can be used after removing as much adhesive as possible by hand. Avoid introducing excess moisture into openings or other areas of the mouse.

We do not recommend using isopropyl alcohol, adhesive removers, solvents, or other cleaning chemicals for this process. They are generally unnecessary, may not effectively remove this type of adhesive, and could cause damage if used incorrectly or come into contact with other parts or surfaces of the mouse.

Before installing new mouse skates, make sure the mounting surface is clean, completely dry, and free of remaining adhesive residue.
