If your mouse scroll wheel is skipping steps, scrolling in the wrong direction, or behaving inconsistently, there are a few things you can check.
Scroll wheel issues can sometimes be caused by debris or a software-related problem. However, they may also indicate a hardware defect.

Testing the scroll wheel
You can use an online scroll wheel tester to check whether your mouse registers scrolling correctly. Simply search for "mouse scroll wheel tester" and follow the instructions on the website.
If the scroll wheel skips steps, registers movement in the opposite direction, or behaves inconsistently, this may indicate an issue with the scroll wheel encoder.
Cleaning and maintenance
The scroll wheel and its encoder are not designed to be serviced or replaced by the user. Please do not disassemble or attempt to repair these components yourself, as doing so may affect your warranty coverage.
If your mouse is still covered under warranty, we recommend contacting Support or your reseller rather than attempting to repair it yourself.
In some cases, dust or debris around the scroll wheel may affect its operation.
Some users attempt to remove debris using compressed air. While this may help in certain situations, it is not an officially recommended troubleshooting procedure, and we cannot guarantee that it will resolve the issue.
